Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday left for New Delhi, where he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (June 11).
Patnaik, who is visiting Delhi for the first time after becoming the Chief Minister for a fifth time, is expected to take up with the Prime Minister several major issues concerning Odisha, including the demand for Special Category State status and financial assistance to tackle natural calamities.
Patnaik is also slated to meet President Ram Nath Kovind on the very day. The Chief Minister, during his week-long stay in the national Capital, will also attend the 5th meeting of the Governing Council of the NITI Aayog on June 15 and is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar the same evening.
