Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated farmers’ awareness camp at Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) and reiterated Government efforts for farmers’ empowerment & farm prosperity in state. He urged farmers to take advantage of various programmes to increase agriculture productivity & secure livelihood for themselves.
He stated that the State Government has taken pioneering steps for agricultural development & ensuring farmers’ all-round welfare. From separate agri-budget that is now at ₹14,000 crore, crop loans at 1% interest to promotion of farm mechanization and provisioning of quality inputs, wide-ranging steps are transforming acgriculture in the state.
The camp seeks to make farmers aware of the different programmes and schemes as well as facilitate closer engagement with acriculture experts for extension of technologies, know-hows that will help them in protecting crops, improving crop management and yield.
Chief Minister Shri Patnaik urged farmers to take advantage of the programmes and harness the full potential of agriculture in the state.
