Bhubaneswar: BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated a logo of the party’s newly-formed trade union wing ‘Biju Janata Dal Sramika Sammukhya’ at the Naveen Niwas here.
The objective of the organisation is stated to be to work to unite the labourers and make sure that they get their rights as more than 1.5 crore workers of the State are deprived of social security.
The Sammukhya’s first State-level convention would be held on here on Sunday in which around 5,000 representatives would participate.
Among others, Sammukhya president Rajendra Prasad Singh, generl secretary general Subash Singh, VP and BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, secretary Jugal Kishore Nayak, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Debasis Samantray, Sanjukta Mahal, Surendra Swain and labour leader Prasant Padhi were present.
