Bhubaneswar : Ahead of Baliyatra , Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani today announced that alike last year no Baliyatra will be conducted this year too , in view to contain deadly virus.
Notably, continuously for over 1,000 years the Baliyatra festival is being celebrated in the silver city on the full moon day in the holy month of Kartik to commemorate the day when Sadhabas (mariners) would set sail to the distant island of Bali, for trade and cultural expansion
