Cuttack: The NLUO IDIA team led by Rahul Agrawal conducted a sensitization and interview session for students of Dampada Anchalika Mahavidyalaya last week. This was conducted as a follow up to the general sensitization and information session on careers in law which was held in October 2016. The interview session commenced with Subhankar Das orienting the shortlisted candidates of the graduate batch, introducing and sensitizing them on the various aspects of law and its branches. It was then followed by the personal interviews conducted by the members of the team. The interview comprised questions on Personal details, Law as a career option, the short term and long term goals of the candidates, their achievements till date, etc. The NLUO IDIA team members ensured that the candidates were comfortable throughout the process. The event continued with sensitization of the students pursuing 11th and 12th standard. It was followed up by Internships for IDIA (INAT), and further two students were interviewed. Out of the shortlisted candidates, Ms. Urmila Samantray qualified the requirements of becoming an IDIA Odisha chapter trainee, having answered all the questions intelligently and without any hesitation. She answered the questions relating to her personal details, previous academic results, achievements, scholarships, etc. asked as per the requirements of IDIA. The interview was followed by the background verification of the selected scholar, by paying a visit to her residence. The guardians were made aware of the said project and how this scholarship would help her in pursuing law as a career. Questions regarding the procedure of training, amenities and facilities provided to the scholar were asked by the guardians that were well answered by the team members. Initial apprehensiveness was sorted out by the dissemination of right information in this regard. A regular check will be conducted on a future date wherein the subsequent formalities of the program will be completed. The NLUO IDIA team comprised of IDIA scholars and volunteers. The team included Rahul Agrawal (Team Leader), Kirti Vyas (Deputy Team Leader), Sourav Mishra, Subhankar Das, Tamoghna Saha, Anshuman Rath, Kirtika Goyal, Mohit Khetan, Shreni Taran, Istuti Kapoor, Apoorva Satapathy, Shreyoshi Roy, and Antara Deshpande. The IDIA team had received warm welcome and wide media coverage for their October sessions. The team considers Dampada sessions as one of its best sensitization trips till date. Upon the clearance of the remaining process of documentations, the Training and Materials Team would begin a rigorous and exhaustive module for the training of the two candidates where they shall be provided with complete coaching and assistance to prepare for CLAT. While offering vote of thanks, the team appreciated the motivation and assistance provided by Chittaranjan Rana Sir (Principal) and whole heartedly thanked Prof. (Dr.) Shrikrishna Deva Rao for his constant and consistent support to the Odisha IDIA team. The team also acknowledged the diligent efforts put forth by Prof. Kamala Kanta Dash for his encouraging words during the sensitization held in October 2016 in Dampada.
