Bhubaneswar: A national Philatelic Seminar was held on 10th November, 2018 at the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar organized by Odisha Postal Circle. Dr. Santosh Kumar Kamila, Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar inaugurated the Seminar in the presence of Col. Jaleswar Kanhar, Postmaster General, Berhampur Region, Berhampur. Shri Sahadev Sahu, Retd. IAS, Shri D.N. Padhi, Retd IAS, Shri Amit Banarjee, Vice Chancellor, Sikshya “O” Anusandhan, Mrs. Damayanti Pattie, President and Shri Rajesh Kumar Bagri, Secretary General, Philately Congress of India, all eminent Philatelist of International Repute attended the seminar as Guests Participants. Besides this the eminent Philatelists from all over the country along with the eminent Philatelists of Odisha participated in the seminar and submitted their views for improvement of Philately. The quarterly magazines issued by PCI “Signet” was released in the seminar. It was decided to establish more philatelic clubs in schools and colleges and promote philately in younger generation.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Bagri, Shri Anil Dhir, Shri Pragyan Jain, Shri Ajit Dash, Shri Madhukar Deogawonka, Shri Markand Dave presented the topic related to Philatelic like “Thematic Presentation”, “Last Post”, “Traditional Philately”, “Forensic Philately”, “Postal History”, “Dasish Settlement in India” respectively. All the participants discussed promotional aspects of philately in Odisha. The members of Philatelic Congress of India, Eastern India Philatelic Association, Odisha Philatelic Association and other Philatelic Association of Odisha extended their help.
Shri P.N. Pattanaik, Asst. Director(Philately), Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar extended the vote of thanks to all the participants for attending the seminar.
