Bhubaneswar: Miss Sharanya Nanda studying in class IX of D.A.V. Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar has been invited by ISRO (Indian Space Reserch Organisation) , Bangalore to participate in the witnessing of landing of Chandrayan-II on Moon on 7th September 2019.
She will be one of the lucky few students of the country to witness the event inside the ISTRAC control room at Bangalore sitting with Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will grace the occasion to encourage the space scientists.
Miss Sharanya was selected on the basis of “Online Space Quiz ” conducted by MyGov.in and ISRO in August 2019 . Two top scoring students (studying in class 8 to 10) were shortlisted from each state and union territory of the country. The students were to answer 20 questions related to space science and mission in 10 minutes. Indeed is a proud moment for NTPC Family members.
She is the second daughter of Sri Samir Kumar Nanda and Smt. Sulabha Nanda. Shri Nanda is presently working as AGM, Finance at NTPC Talcher Kaniha..
To her credit Miss Sharanya had also got a letter of appreciation in 2017 from PM Modi in response to a letter by her to Shri Narendra Modi where she had written a poem on Swachh Bharat Mission.
