Madhya Pradesh govt. to hold vaccination campaign in industrial units of the state

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a virtual dialogue with representatives of various industrial organisations from Indore today, in which discussions were held on making a vaccination plan in the industrial world. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has appointed Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Shri Sanjay Shukla as the nodal officer to coordinate between the industrial organisations and the government on this subject. Talking to representatives of organisations today, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that industrial units will be fully supported by the government in this regard.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has appealed that corporate sector should come forward in the work of vaccination and conduct a massive campaign for vaccination of their employees. He said that if we can manufacture the vaccine in Madhya Pradesh itself, then it will be a big success. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that I invite private sector companies desirous of producing vaccine in the state and will soon discuss future strategy with them in a round table conference.

The discussion was inaugurated by Principal Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar Shukla while apprising of the objectives and circumstances. The debate was attended by Shri B. Thyagarajan Chairman of Western Region of Indian Industrial Confederation, Dr. Sangeeta Reddy of Apollo Hospitals Limited, Shri Dinesh Patidar Chairman of Shakti Pump Limited, Shri Saurabh Sangla Chairman, Industrial Confederation Madhya Pradesh, Shri Madhusudan Gopalan of FICCI, Shri Sunil Kataria , Shri Sunil Chordia and they put forth their suggestions.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan lauded the work of corporate leaders and entrepreneurs associated with the industry, and said that they not only manufacture the necessary materials, infrastructure for the country, but also provide employment to lakhs of people. They are the backbone of the economy. He said that I also respect you for entrepreneurship and hard work. I am grateful to all of you for the support received from the industry during the crisis of Corona epidemic. He said that we have seen such a crisis for the first time. The second wave is more deadly than the first. With the help of everyone, we will get rid of the second wave of Corona even sooner. He said that the situation of Corona is improving rapidly. The public participation model in the battle of Corona in the state has been appreciated by the Prime Minister. Crisis management groups have been formed up to the district, development block and gram panchayat level, which take decisions related to corona.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that when the outbreak of Corona started, 80 metric tonnes of oxygen was available in the state every day and at present its avalability has increased to more than 650 metric tonnes per day. Now the need of oxygen in hospitals is continuously decreasing. To ensure supply of oxygen to hospitals in future, more than 100 PSA based oxygen plants have been approved in the state. The number of beds in hospitals has been increased. Test capacity has also been increased.

As soon as the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan received information about the black fungus disease, units are being set up in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Gwalior and Rewa Medical Colleges for its treatment. Due to the possibility of children becoming ill in the third wave of Corona, a team of experts has been formed and the necessary preparations have been started on their advice. Beds are being reserved for children. Today is the need to protect new people from infection. Therefore, ITITV strategy was adopted in Madhya Pradesh to increase the treatment facilities of patients and break the chain of infection. This means identify, test, isolate, treat, and vaccinate.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that all commercial activities in the Corona curfew have been halted. But in the meantime, it was decided not to shut down the industries. I know that the industries are the backbone of the economy; they not only produce the necessary goods, but also provide employment to lakhs of people. We also know that businesses operate in a disciplined environment. Therefore, there was no doubt in mind while giving them exemption.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now it is your responsibility to ensure compliance of Corona Appropriate behaviour among those working in industries. Create shifts of work in such a way that the people present at a time can have sufficient physical distance, arrange for sanitization and ensure all workers use masks. Medical treatment facility should be available to any suspected patient by isolating immediately. Vaccination is an effective way to prevent the third wave of corona in the future.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that public participation is necessary for vaccination to be expedited. In order to have continuity in economic activities in future, we need to conduct vaccination programme at war footing. Thousands of people work in large industries. Even in small industries, this number is in the hundreds. Their working conditions are such that close contact is necessary. Vaccination is the only option in such a situation, which can protect them from the catastrophe of corona. That is why the corporate sector is responsible and I call upon them to take steps to get their employees, workers and their families vaccinated. They can do this by purchasing the vaccine from the market. Their industry will also progress more in a Covid free environment and it will also be a work of public welfare on their behalf.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we need to work under the national level strategy issued by the Government of India to make the vaccination programme run at a rapid pace. Under the national strategy, the private sector is eligible to set up vaccination centres, which they can register on the Cowin portal. The private sector can take vaccine supplies directly from vaccine producers.

The Government of India has marked 50 percent of the total vaccine production for the use by the state governments and private sector. Under the private sector vaccination program, you are expected to cooperate to vaccinate your employees, their families and the nearest community.
