JSPL Flags off 30th Road Safety Week

Angul: The Fire and Safety department of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL), has organised a series of sensitization programmes today to commemorate the 30th Road Safety Week. The inaugural function was led by Mr. Suresh Kumar, Executive Director – Maintenance, who administered the Safety Oath to all the employees, contractors and workers gathered at the safety oath ceremony held inside the plant premises.

Addressing on this occasion Mr. Suresh Kumar, reminded everyone regarding their responsibility towards the safety of their-self and their co-workers. he also highlighted the management’s commitment for implementation of all control measures to avoid any accident.

Mr. Damodar Mittal, Factory Manager, EVP & Head Iron Making has also expressed his pleasure regarding the highest ever production of last month without any mishap and assured all kind of help from the management in this regard.

Mr. Ravikant Somani, EVP & Group Head – OHS advised all employees not to follow any pressure from any Supervisor, Engineer or any other authority which may lead to unsafe act or unsafe condition and assured the commitment of management for keeping the work place safe.

JSPL senior officials like Mr. Awdesh Narayan Tiwari, EVP- CGP and Mr. B.P.Singh, GM-Safety also addressed the gathering and advised each and every stakeholders of the company to adhere the safety norms first whether it is on road or at their workplace.

On this occasion, various individuals, departments and contractors were also awarded for their safety disciplinary and exemplary practices in their day to day activities by scoring high points in the Safety Index Parameter of the company.

This time the Fire and Safety department of JSPL has planned for different types activities such as Road Safety Campaign, Display of Informative Banners, Free Eye Check up and Training for Drivers, Speed Checking, monitoring and counselling, Display of road safety animations and movies through different medium, and Pasting of Night Glow stickers on two wheelers to promote road safety.
