Bhubaneswar: Katikata in Jajpur district has become a COVID19 hotspot because people violated quarantine advice; we need cooperation from all. So far, 630 samples have been collected from Jajpur’s Katikata area that has become a new hotspot. This is informed by the Health Department Principal Secretary Nikunj Dhal .

Secretary Nikunj Dhal informed that Odisha is undertaking passive surveillance and tracking all SARI & ILI cases, which are being tested; it has helped us to keep the COVID19 spread under control.
We are sealing the area once someone is tested COVID19 positive. Contract tracing, sending swab samples for testing & leaving no person at risk behind is our strategy says Health Dept Principal Secy Nikunj Dhal .
