India-China Breakthrough: LAC Patrol Agreement Facilitates Disengagement Before PM Modi’s BRICS Summit

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia for the BRICS summit, India and China have reached a significant agreement on new patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Himalayas. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that the agreement aims to resolve tensions that began with the 2020 border clash, leading to disengagement along the disputed areas.
