Puri: On the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch is organizing a Social Service Camp on Rath Yatra, at Puri by involving the volunteers from different sections of Red Cross in association with District Red Cross Branch, Puri. Through this social service camp safe drinking water, generic medicine, stretcher services, Ambulance service, First Aid service etc. will be provided to the pilgrims & visitors.
Hon’ble Minister, School & Mass Education, Odisha and Chairman, Working Committee, Junior Red Cross Shri Badri Narayan Patra inaugurated the Social Service Camp as the Chief Guest and suggested to work in a collective manner for the smooth management for First Aid Camps, Grand Road Cleaning programmes etc
Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, Odisha and Chairman, Working Committee, Youth Red Cross Shri Ananta Das joined as Guest of Honour. During his address he expressed the important role of Red Cross and its volunteers during the Rath Yatra
Dr. Gyanbrata Mohanty, Honorary Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch extended the welcome address and highlighted the activities to be undertaken during the camp.
On 25th June 2017 Volunteers will rendered stretcher services near the cordon area. Water sprayer units would be in position to provide pilgrims relief from the intense heat and humidity. In addition Two Ambulance with attendance would be stationed at the Grand Road for emergency services. Emergency Health center will be operated at Utkal Hindi Vidyapitha with temporary hospital & doctors, 10 First-Aid Centers, one Stroke Management Center will also opened for rendering health & care services to the pilgrim and people.
After the departure of Chariots to Gundicha Temple volunteers would undertake the noble endeavor of Bada Danda cleaning programme.
Approximately 300 YRC volunteers and Counsellors from colleges, Shelter volunteers, Red Cross Members would join in the camp to render health and care services to pilgrims and people during the Car Festival.
