Bhubaneswar 23/09/2017 : Institute of Media Studies, Bhubaneswar organised a youth connect programme on the theme “Safe Campus-Safe City”. The programme was presided over by Dr. P. Yashodhara, Retired Professor, Ramadevi University & Prof. Upendra Padhi, Director, IMS in the presence of faculties and students.
Dr. Yashodhara focused on the necessary steps which are needed to keep Bhubaneswar’s status as smart city. First of all she encouraged the students to object the beggars at the traffic signals and market place. Then she told them to discourage objectionable behavior by youngsters in public places. She stressed on the necessity to keep the city clean of hazardous substances like plastic bottles, garbage etc. people should be discouraged from spitting on the streets and urinating in public places.
In the question answer session she gave an excellent example of coins of carom board. She said that if we touch few people and try to make changes in their behavior, then slowly but steadily all the people can be made aware to keep the city clean. Thus keep its standard as the best nominated smart city of India.
