Bhubaneswar: Heavy rains are likely to occour in several parts of the State including coastal areas from Friday. This was informed by the Regional Office of Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD) here on Thursday.
The exiting low-pressure over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood persists; and the associated cyclonic circulation now extends up to 4.5 km above the sea level, IMD sources said.
Another low pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal while the axis of monsoon trough is also active. The phenomenon would trigger rains in several parts of Odisha from Friday.
“Due to the low-pressure, rain and thunderstorm are likely to occur at many places over several districts of north Odisha and at a few places over south Odisha from tomorrow,” the IMD predicted.
