Bhubaneswar: The Sambhavi,an initiative of Humara Bachpan Trust(HBT),organised a series of events to celebrate the success of women on the occasion of international womens day.
To Mark the day and Theme of the year’Balance for Better’,women and girlsfrom different slums of Bhubaneswar participated.
The events were held at Saheednagar kalyan mandap and handagiri Bari Community Hall,where cultural programmes were onducted,witha strong nderly ingmessage of women empowerment. Role model whoset examples of fighting
discrimination, ttempted to forge equality and achieved their aspirations were felicitated. They
spoke about their experiences and encouraged others to takeup the challenge of fighting discrimination,while supporting each other as women.
There was a pannel discussion on the topic’Ending Violence Against Women’,youth groups
prepared selfiecards with their opinion sand powerful message of women empowerment,
street plays were also conducted on the theme of gender balance,gender parity and the
pschycological importance of gender balance, with a motive to break stereo types and the
orthodox views of gender in society.
The day was also observed at sambhavi skill training centre in chandrasekharpur wher ewomen
undergoing skill training joined.They also expressed their aspirations through powerful song
‘Hum HongeKamyab’sendingoutamessageofskilltrainingbeingaroadtoempowerment.
