Bhubaneswar: The low pressure area over south-west Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood is likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rain at many places over south Odisha and at a few places over north Odisha during next 24 hours, India Met Department (IMD) forecasted on Tuesday.
Low pressure system now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood , that area falls east of Tamilnadu. Models indicate that it likely to move North or North-Northwest direction.
Due to its movement and further intensification, rain may occur in different districts especially in coastal districts of Odisha from 13th to 17th November,2017.
Based on model products, day wise rainfall in different districts are given below:
13th Nov,17– Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and South areas of Puri & Khorda (light to moderate rainfall)
14th Nov.17- Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Puri, Nayagarh, Khorda ( light to moderate rainfall with heavy at one or two locations only in Ganjam, Gajapat districts)
15th Nov.17– Khorda, Puri, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Phulbani, Maurbhanj, Baleswar, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada ( moderate rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy at one or two places only in Khoda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Maurbhanj, Baleswar, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur)
16th Nov.17- Keonjhar, Maurbhanj, Baleswar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Jajpur
17th Nov.17- Keonjhar, Maurbhanj, Sundergarh
