Bhubaneswar: Under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, as part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, a flagship programme of the Government of India various programmes on skill development, livelihood and entrepreneurship for youths will be launched at 164 blocks in 30 districts of Odisha on 5th May 2018 informed Mr. Jaykant Singh, Senior Head, State Engagement, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in a press meet held in Bhubaneswar today.
Addressing the press meet, Mr. Singh said, distinct programmes will be launched at 164 blocks of the state along with a state level programme will be organized at Habeli ground in Khurda district in front of BDO colony. Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest of this occasion. Similarly Union Minister Sri Jual Oram is slated to join various programmes at different blocks under Sundergarh district.
Massive preparation has been going on for involving large number of youths and women in this programme to get employment opportunity as well as joining the country through skill development and livelihood under Gram Swaraj Yojana, informed Shri Singh.
The objective of organizing such programme is to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for making a New India and to concrete the mission of New Odisha. The programme will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India.
The objective of the program is
· to create awareness among the youth about various government skill development and livelihood initiatives available
· to provide a platform for youth to get exposure on various skill development courses and job opportunities in the industries
· to make skill aspirational through counselling of candidates and parents
The duo ministries have extended their support to create awareness about various Welfare schemes of Union Government through skill development programmes in Odisha.
Efforts will be given to connect youths with various traditional and modern market relevant job skills to cater effective employment opportunity through the courses on skill development programme. The awareness will be created to cater more youth through on job training facilities at various government organizations under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.
Steps will be taken to modernize the ITIs along with introducing modern syllabus as well as skill certificates will be distributed to the traditional skilled persons who have no certificates till now. Information will be provided to youths for giving opportunity and possibilities for being an entrepreneur through such type of programmes.
Shri Singh has urged locals especially youths to join in these programmes which are going to be conducted throughout the state and also he urged the youths to join in these mega programmes of Union Government for skill development, livelihood and entrepreneurship.
Among others Shri Bikram Kumar Das and Shri Yash Bajaj from NSDC were also present in the press meet held today.
