New Delhi: Dr. Sunil Kumar Bhargava, IAS, Chief Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha, New Delhi warmly welcomed the three Freedom Fighters from Odisha invited to the “AT HOME” Reception being hosted by Hon’ble President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 9th August, 2018.
Three Freedom Fighters namely Shri Ramahari Goswami (Bhadrak), Shri Iswar Bisoi (Nayagarh) and Shri Debananda Gupta (Sambalpur) have been invited this year by the Hon’ble President of India to the “AT HOME” Reception today. Shri Vipin Saxena, IAS, Principal Resident Commissioner, Shri Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, IAS, Resident Commissioner were present along with senior officers, eminent odias and senior officers of integrated office of Chief Resident Commissioner. Dr. Bhargava, Shri Saxena and Shri Mishra felicitated and presented shawls to the freedom fighters on this occasion. The esteemed Freedom Fighters interacted with the gathering and shared memories of freedom struggle.
The “AT HOME” reception is organized every year to commemorate the anniversary of the “Quit India Movement” in the Indian Freedom Struggle. Freedom Fighters from all parts of the country are invited to Rashtrapati Bhawan to attend the “AT HOME” Reception. After the felicitation function at Odisha Niwas the Freedom Fighters left for Rashtrapati Bhawan to attend
the Reception.
The State Government has made all facilities for lodging and boarding of the Freedom Fighters in Odisha Niwas. The Freedom Fighters on their arrival on 7th August were given a hearty
welcome by the Office of the Chief Resident Commissioner. All arrangements have been made for their visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan today to attend the “AT HOME” Reception hosted by Hon’ble President of India.
