First train carrying over 1100 Odia migrants from #Kerala reaches #Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The first special train carrying as many as 1,150 migrant workers hailing from Odisha reached Jagannathpur Railway Station in Ganjam district this morning. All passengers sent to the quarantine facilities in their locality by dist administration. This is informed by the Ganjam Administration.

511 passengers of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Rayagada, Boudh Nabarangpur and Koraput alighted at Jagannathpur station while rest of the passengers will get off the train at Khurda Road station.

All arrangements in place for their registration & orderly send off.This is informed by the Additional Chief Secretary adn SRC Pradeep Jena in a tweet.

All the returnees will go to their native areas along with respective panchayat-level officials and undergo a mandatory quarantine for 14 days at Temporary Medical Camps. It should be noted that all were stranded in Kerala due to nationwide lockdown for coronavirus outbreak. The train had originated from Ernakulam Railway Station in Kerala.
