Bhubaneswar: While inaugurating the 64th National School Games, Dr. T.K. Chand, CMD, NALCO observed that National School Games is the right kind of platform for supporting and promoting budding sports stars for future glory in global sporting platforms like the Olympics.
‘’Now I see a perceptive change in the minds of people and a gradual transformation in the mind of society because sports is being considered as a rewarding career. And that’s the beginning of the change. We are country with more than a billion people and it is time we start delivering in Olympics. This has not happened in the past, but the trend is changing as we are starting to put up a better show in Asian Games and Commonwealth Games,’’ said Dr. Chand.
Organised by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI), the 64th National Games brought together participants from across the country to fight it out for top honours in the under 17 Boys and Girls category in Lawn Tennis at KIIT University. Dr. Chand complemented Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for promoting sports.
