Bhubaneswar: Well-known prolific drama artist Dinesh Das has been awarded as best director for his new drama “Chasama” at Eastern India Science Drama Competition, Kolkata. The Dhenkanal-based artist participated at the competition with the students of Panchayat Raj High School under Kamakashyanagar Sub-Division during the third week of this month. The story of the drama was very unique and heart touching which was adjudged as best among all participants in Eastern India. The drama has written and directed by him. Panchayat Raj High School was also awarded as best drama during the occasion.
Chasama depicts the thought and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi which he wanted to see a clean and better India through his Chasma (spectacle) in all sort of life including lean environment. But with the pace of time the situation became polluted and unhygienic. He was worry after seeing the horrible situation and thrown away his Chasma. The grim situation gradually changed with self-realisation of people and use of modern science and technology. A new ‘Satyagraha’ started with Swachha Bharat Mission; recycle of used water and waste. Gandiji’s again used Chasama.
“Chasama shows a new direction to the society. The story of the drama illustrates how the dream of Gandhiji for a modern and clean India is now possible with the advent of science and technology,” Mr. Das revealed.
The story was inimitable and mesmerized the audience as well as judges at the competition. The dram has been selected to participate in Science Drama Competition at Mumbai. Mr. Das has been felicitated by the school management at a special function.
