Bhubaneswar : Public School, Pokhariput celebrated its 2-day Annual Function ‘JASHNN-2018’ on the school premises on a grand scale which witnessed the lively participation of more than 1500 students in both the days.
The celebration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Ms. Roopa Mishra, Additional Secretary-cum-Director, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department and the other dignitaries followed by a musical chorus. Mr. M. M. Panda, the Chairman of School Managing Committee in his welcome address praised the students’ effort to put the school’s achievements on national academic map. The school Principal Dr. Sujata presented the Annual report mentioning the scholastic and co-scholastic achievements of the school the throughout the year. The students, the teachers and the other staff members were felicitated by the guests for their noteworthy achievements in various areas.
In his address, the Chief Guest Ms. Mishra encouraged the students to be creative and build a value-based life instead of following mechanical life of the modernity. She opined that national progress can come naturally if knowledge, skills, moral essence and physical wellness are emphasized.
Chairman of DAV, CDA, Cuttack General B.K. Mohapatra, Principal of DAV Unit- 8 Ms. Ipsita Das, Principal, DAV, Kalinga Nagar, Mr. B. K. Sahoo and Principals of many other schools of DAV, Odisha Zone were present on the occasion.
In cultural presentations, the students captivated the audience through their stunning performances in the programmes named Mohan Murati, Earth: Our Protector, Gunjuru Gunja, Tenali Rama Karuchi Drama and School Days. Parents were ecstatic as they saw their children performing so gracefully on stage.
