Report by Pravuprasad Routray, Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flags off Skill Caravan’s journey across Odisha at Special ITI for PWDs in Jatni for empowering and skilling youth.
“On World Youth Skills Day, I greet all our youth and restate my firm commitment to empower them with skills to achieve their aspirations in life. It is our resolve to make Skilled-in-Odisha a global brand,” said CM Naveen Patnaik.
This day was an apt occasion for me to inaugurate the Special ITI for PWDs at Jatni. The ITI will empower our differently abled with skills to achieve their dreams. With skills, they will lead their lives with confidence and dignity without being dependent on anybody.
“I am happy with the infrastructure and facilities at the ITI. The barrier-free campus will provide complete accessibility to all students and enable them to move about and carry out their training without any hindrance. It will boost their talents and capabilities. I also laid the foundation stone for a 100-seat girls’ hostel at the ITI that will encourage more and more girls to take up skill training. Also, flagged off the Skills Caravan that will cover every nook and corner of the state, spreading the message of Skilled-in-Odisha,” said CM Naveen Patnaik.
“During the programme, I interacted with the students. I was touched by the enthusiasm of the youngsters for skill development. I urged all to aim high in life and asserted to them that I and my Government will solidly support them in making their dreams come true. Skilled-in-Odisha is not an initiative any more. It has turned into a movement. Odisha is leading the way in skill development & already recognised by Union Government as the ‘Best Performing State’ in the country. We are committed to not just transform Skilled-in-Odisha into a global brand but make it a model worth to replicated across the world,” said CM Naveen Patnaik.
