Bhopal: No state had ever realized that the second wave of Corona infection could be so fatal. The speed with which Corona spread its tentacles in the second wave left all the states stunned. Madhya Pradesh was also one among them. The sudden increase in Corona infection was a matter of concern for everyone. In these difficult circumstances, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan provided security cover to the people of the state with his high spiritedness and elaborate arrangements to save them from Corona.
The way in which Corona infection was increasing, there was very little time to make arrangements. Despite this, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan did not give up. Working non-stop for about 20 hours every day, he held meetings with administrative officers to make an effective strategy and improved medical arrangements in every district of the state. In view of the cases of Corona infection, supply of essential medicines was also ensured while increasing the number of beds in government hospitals. In the meantime, taking a serious turn, Corona virus started affecting the lungs of patients. In this situation, patients started needing oxygen and ventilators. The situation was getting serious, but Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan did not give up. He flung into action for arranging oxygen. All efforts were made at the state level. Along with this, he got oxygen supply in a short time by interacting with many Union Ministers apart from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Tankers were sent by Indian Air Force planes to Jharkhand and Rajasthan for oxygen coming from outside the state. Madhya Pradesh got oxygen from here by rail and road which became a lifeline for Corona patients.
Effective efforts for adequate availability of oxygen
Getting oxygen from outside at the time of crisis was a compulsion to end which, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan resolved that oxygen will be made available in the state in the interest of the people of the state. He made rapid efforts in this direction. For this, cooperation of the central government was sought and oxygen manufacturing companies were also contacted. His sincere efforts are now starting to pay off. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, work of 96 oxygen plants is under construction in different districts of Madhya Pradesh today. Some of these plants have started functioning. The rest of the work is being completed within the stipulated time frame. With the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh will soon be self-sufficient in the matter of oxygen. Presently, apart from the oxygen being received from the central government and other external sources, the state government is also ensuring its availability to patients through oxygen concentrators. Oxygen plants based on latest technology VPSA are being set up in Bhopal, Rewa, Indore, Gwalior and Shahdol in the state in which 300 to 400 liters of oxygen will be produced per minute. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to set up oxygen plants with this latest technology.
Effective defense strategy
In the strategy adopted by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to save the people of the state from Corona infection, the first step was- breaking the chain of Corona infection. Government ministers, officers of various departments, public representatives, social organizations, voluntary organizations and people of urban and rural areas have also actively participated in this work. The people of the area also resorted to self-imposed Janata curfew to break the chain of Corona infection. In this work, many villages of the state have proven to be models. To protect their village from Corona, the villagers locked the entire village. Only 4 to 5 people of the village go out to bring essential goods and bring material for the people of the whole village. This is also an innovation to protect against Corona. On the appeal of the state government, people in many areas have also decided not to do any marriage related work and social work.
Effective kill Corona campaign
The second step of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s strategy is ‘Kill Corona Campaign’. Under this campaign, teams visited villages to make people aware of Corona and ensured arrangements for their treatment by going door-to-door to identify probable patients. Crisis Management Groups have also been prepared at the block and village level, in which all sections are represented. Covid Care Centers and Quarantine Centers have also been set up in rural areas. Along with treatment, other necessary arrangements have also been made at these centers. On the call of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, more than one lakh social workers have joined as Corona volunteers, and are contributing significantly in public awareness works for Covid control while working shoulder to shoulder with the government. Active role is also being played by Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad.
In this hour of crisis, ‘Jeevan Amrit Yojana’ was started by the state government under which about 2 lakh kadha packets have been distributed to people from door-to-door. In this sequence ‘Yoga Se Nirog’ programme is also being run in the state. In this, yoga instructors are offering online yoga practice for home-isolation patients.
Vaccine shield
In urban and rural areas, a protective shield of vaccine is being provided to the general public to save them from corona. Being the head of the state, it is the endeavour of the CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to vaccinate all sections in a phased manner. For this, the availability of vaccine is also being ensured on a large scale. CM Shri Chouhan says that the vaccine is providing protection from corona during this crisis. Our goal is to provide a protective cover to everyone, so orders have been issued on a large scale for the purchase of the vaccine.
Strict prevention of black marketing of medicines and overcharging in treatment
Sensitive towards corona patients and strict towards black marketing and adulterers, CM Shri Chouhan says that there it is very painful when the news comes to the fore that some selfish people are involved in black marketing of medicines and other materials necessary for corona treatment and sale of fake medicines. Such people are enemies of humanity. On the soil of Madhya Pradesh strict legal action is being taken against such parasites. The Madhya Pradesh government is also keeping a close watch on those private hospitals, which are over charging the public in the name of corona treatment. Action is also being taken against such hospitals and operators. Notices and FIRs have been registered in many cases for violation of prescribed protocols and norms of Covid treatment in private hospitals. Along with this, in the cases of black marketing of Remdesivir injection, the guilty persons have been sent to jail after taking action under NSA. Along with this, the accused have also been arrested and sent to jail under the Prevention of Black Marketing Act and Supply of Essential Commodities Act.
Fully alert about the third wave as well
At present, along with perfect arrangements to save the people of the state from the second wave of corona, the future strategy is also being prepared by CM Shri Chouhan. Being fully aware and conscious of the possible third wave of Corona, the Chief Minister is trying to ensure such arrangements, so that the third wave of Corona can be controlled in time. For this, the action plan to enhance infrastructure in the health sector and boost other systems is being implemented rapidly. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan says that a lot of lessons have been learnt from the second wave of Corona. Perfect arrangements will be made in advance to ensure that such a situation does not arise in future. He said that the government of the state is alert; the public should also stay vigilant and alert. Government and society together will save everyone from Corona.
Sensitive decisions and economic support to the poor
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan took care of the poor class with utmost sensitivity like a member of the family during the Corona period. He also started many such schemes during the Corona period which are proving to be a boon for the poor and helpless people. These schemes include Mukhyamantri Covid Bal Kalyan Yojana, Vishesh Anugrah Yojana, compassionate appointment scheme, Corona Yoddha Kalyan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Covid Upchar Yojana. By adding new provisions in Ayushman Bharat Yojana, facilities for treatment were made available to the poor. Along with this, financial assistance to urban and rural street vendors, payment of remuneration to tendu leaf collectors, grant money to beneficiaries under Sambal Yojana, Rs 1500 crore in the accounts of 75 lakh farmers under Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana and 21 crore 85 lakh 93 thousand rupees were transferred under the Aahar Anudan Yojana in the accounts of 2 lakh 18 thousand 593 women of backward tribes Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya classes.
Success achieved with all-out efforts
