Cuttack: The Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Sri Sri University(SSU) under Rotary Club ,Cuttack was held on the 19th December at SSU at 3:30 pm. The ceremony was graced by Rtn. Satyabrata Tripathy (popularly known as Kuna), President of the Rotary Club of Cuttack and Chairman of Odisha Film Development Corporation, members from Innerwheel Club, Rotary Club of Barabati, Rotary International District (RID) 3262, Deans, Faculty Members and students of Sri Sri University. The Chief Guest of the event was Rtn. Shibabrata Das, Past District Governor with Rtr. Chinmoy Gayan, District Rotaract Representative, RID 3262 as Guest of Honour. Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni, President of Sri Sri University and Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Sri University welcomed the guests. The ceremony was initiated by Ganesh Vandana and lighting of lamp.
Rtn. Satyabrata Tripathy addressed the gathering by stating that “through Rotaract Clubs, students can learn international relationships and leadership which will help to enhance the education & profession.” He also appealed that youths of today should commit themselves towards eliminating evils in the society.
The office bearers and members of the Rotaract Club of Sri Sri University were felicitated with the lapel pins and Rtr. Chinmoy Gayan administered Rotaract oath to new rotaractors & wished them a bright future.
Rtr. J. Abhishek, President, Rotaract Club of Sri Sri University addressed the gathering and extended his gratitude to all the Rotarians who made the event special with their presence. Rtr. Rohit Kumar, Joint Secretary, Rotaract Club of Sri Sri University presented the report on the past events of the Club and also shared the schedule of future activities of the Club.
Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor, Sri Sri University addressed the gathering by sharing his association with the Rotary Club of Maurya, Delhi for more than the past 10 years. He motivated the students to initiate new projects which would help them to nurture their creative and entrepreneurial skills and also help society at large.
Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni, President, Sri Sri University congratulated students for taking the great step of starting Rotaract Club in the University. She shared the importance of service in one’s life by stating the example of a photo with a frame. She mentioned even if the frame is removed, the photo doesn’t lose its essence. She also emphasised on the aspects of collaboration, care and compassion towards others.
Rtn. Shibabrata Das, Chief Guest of the event shared very intriguing questions about their purpose of life and the aim of education. With his words of wisdom, he invoked valour amongst the students to work towards fulfilling the aim of the Rotaract Club of putting Service above Self.
