Mumbai: Opening ceremony of Vigilance Awareness Week organized at Central Bank of India at its Corporate Office at ChanderMukhi,Nariman Point Mumbai on 27.10.2020. The function was graced by ShriMutha Ashok Jain, IPS, Deputy Director General, Narcotics Control Bureau – India.
Parshuram Panda, Chief Vigilance Officer of Bank welcomed the Chief Guest and introduced him. Heemphasized on this year’s theme “Vigilant India, Prosperous India” and its importance to bring a change in the society. Sri Panda also informed that Central Vigilance commission has launched a new initiative for citizens to suggest systemic improvements in Central Government organizations. These suggestions may be sent directly to the Central Vigilance Commission from 27th October to 2nd November 2020 by e mail [email protected]
Pallav Mohapatra, MD &CEO emphasized on importance of owning one’s self made decision and after measuring all pros and cons.He said that corruption is a major hindrance to the progress of the nation and all sections of the society need to be vigilant in order to uphold integrity in all aspects of our national life.
The chief guest, ShriMutha Ashok Jain spoke at length about this year’s theme by citing his own personal experience which revolved around the COVID-19 situation as to how did he become Vigilant during the pandemic crisis by self-directing ourselves, taking charge and making conscious choices with awareness. He explained in the simplest possible way meaning of Prosperity which was realistic rather than the materialistic meaning which is usually perceived.
This was first of the 4 events planned for the week after following all the norms for social distancing due to COVID-19 as advised by CVC and the program was aired digitally to all the Regional and Zonal Offices through VC. As per CVC guidelines this year we have focused on improvement in internal process by implementing various systemic improvement, time bound disposal of work, inclusion of Preventive Vigilance module in the training curriculum for probationary officers and extensive usage of social media platforms for spreading awareness.
