Bhubaneswar: Hackathons are the new briskly way of idea generation. They provide platform and tools to stimulate creativity for problem-solving at a professional level. Limited time forces the participants to brainstorm their vision down to the practical and feasible solutions. Learning and building go hand in hand at such events. More the active developers, higher the potential of bringing a fresh perspective to the business challenges along with society development. Unpredictable disruption of technology has lead companies to take the road of Hackathons for problem solving as it allows developers worldwide to throw in their ideas.
Day 2 of Mozilla Fest flagged Mozilla Hackathon 3.0, organized on the theme of “Develop powerful teaching tool” on 10th March, 2019 at KIIT Deemed to be University by Mozilla Club BBSR (lead by Manzar Hasnain) provokes the thought of community building across the campus. With gracious welcome to the praiseworthy guests Mrs. Jhanja Das, the president of Rotary E-Club, Mr. Aslam Rahman, State Head, premier NSDC partner-Rooman Technologies, Dr. Kumar Mohanty, Director of Corporate Relations, KIIT and Rosy Rath, Rotary Club. Having exemplary experience in field of technology and business, the guest engaged attendees about importance of technology and the need of fine developmental skills with their intelligible thoughts.
Charging up the session by Mr Rashmi Ranjan Sahu, Sr. Mission Associate (Incubation & Partnership) at Startup Odisha boosted the attendees by acknowledging the potential outcomes of this hackathon and opening the door for the future entrepreneurs to pitch in their ideas with the help of the initiatives taken up by the government. Using open source platforms, Mozilla projects and the other latest technologies like machine learning, blockchain, AR & VR along with web and android for ideation, participants presented solutions for rejuvenating the teaching experience of the students. Ideas about enhancing classroom experience, increasing teacher and student interaction, creating hostel learning environment and explaining complex problems to kids with the use of technology were well capitulated by the judges Mr. Jayant Rajwani, full stack software developer at Intellibot.io and Mr. Ayush Agarwal, founder at Lecture Notes. Ideation with proper documentation were endorsed and after 6 hours the participants submitted their projects on GitHub. The top 10 teams were called for presentation and the finally top 3 teams were felicitated by the judges with awards and cash prize. All the teams received goodies as a token of love. This event cherishes the unbarred gateway to IT industry and nourishes the persona of every individual.
Reinforcement of the event by KIIT Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Startup Odisha ensures the further augmentation of building this community as concrete place to learn. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. Awakening the natural curiosity of every student, Mozilla Hackathon 3.0 helped to bring forth the technical intellect amidst the nascent thinkers before the world. Working in association with KIIT Training and Placement Cell the club aims at coding literacy. Devotion towards society development with the motive of teach the web, Mozilla Club joys the triumphant accomplishment of Olympics for Eengineers, Mozilla Fest.
