Bhubaneswar: The Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) is all set to begin on a stormy note from Monday . Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal would address the Assembly on the opening day.
The Assembly would continue till February 12. Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera would present a Vote-on-Account for 2019-20 on February 7. The Appropriate Bill for three months would be passed on February 8. The session will have total of seven working days.
After chairing the BJD Legislature Party meeting, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the Government would reply to all questions of the Opposition.
BJD leaders said issues of special category status (SCS), the Polavarm and Mahanadi isues and the cut in funds compared to 14th Finance Commission recommendation would be raised during the session.
The Congress Legislature Party also met on Sunday, “We will raise farmer and chit fund issues, besides women security and other issues. Similarly, the BJP would raise chit fund, nonpayment of bonus on paddy and women insecurity issues, party sources said.
Triple layered security arrangements to be made at #Odisha Assembly ahead of Budget session. “30 platoons of police force, 100 officers and 2 units of SOG will be deployed. The entire building and the premises will be under CCTV surveillance,” informs Police DG R P Sharma.
