Rourkela: Kosal Janta Dal (KJD) held its membership review meet and Nuakhai Bhetghat in People Garden Restaurant on Sunday morning. An ambience of bonhomie and camaraderie prevailed in the loss green lawn of People Garden in Choudhury Complex when KJD members and their families greeted one another with traditional ‘Nuakhai Juhar’. Members along with kids dance to the tune of Kosli folk songs and merriment contained till late afternoon.
Greeting the members and their families KJD President Baidyanath Mishra said how the party is consolidating from strength to strength. He emphasized on hard work to reach the target of one thousand active members till December this year. A large contingent of men, women and students enrolled as members of the party on the spot. Mishra announced the expansion of the executive body by inducting Nirmal Kumar das as secretary along with Rakesh Singh, Bidyut Prabha Jena and Rita Mishra as executive body members. Nirmal Kumar Das the General Secretary of Rourkela, Ex-Servicemen League was named as the party secretary.
Sanat Kumar Pradhan, Vice-President KJD welcomed the gathering. Major Dr. Akshaya Kumar Samal, Dhaneswar Das, Pitabash Mishra, Editor Utkal Mail and Chakranta Jena, party General Secretary and Treasurer Lalatendu Chouwdhury also exchanged greetings.
Surama Mishra, executive body member spoke on the significance of Nua Khai Bhetghat. The function was organized by a team led by Swarup Mishra, Tapas Samal, Suvendu Mohanty, Susanta Ray and Mahesh Das.
