Bhubaneswar: BMC today has distributed 51 nos of provisional letter for Rajiv Awas Yojana of Mahishakhal slum. Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda today distributed these letters in presence of BMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
The RAY Housing project will construct 740 nos of houses in Ground plus 6 structures. In the first phase 80 nos of families have already taken physical possession of houses and living a very comfortable life, said BMC Mayor.
In the second phase total 98 nos of families will get RAY houses out of which today 51 nos received provisional letter, others will get in a day or two as they were busy and could not reach office.
The beneficiaries shall deposit an amount of rupees one lakh twenty thousand in favor of BMC as per the guideline of the scheme. However the poor families can avail bank loan for this contribution. BMC is also providing support for bank loan assistance.
State government is committed for providing housing and other basic amenities to the urban poor, said Tourism Minister Ashok Panda.
Zonal Deputy Commissioner Binay Dash, Deputy Commissioner Deepak Routray, Secretary Debasis Mohanty and other officers were present in the event.
