Bhubaneswar: The State BJP Mahila Morcha launched a State-wide Mahila Suraksha Yatra on Thursday. The yatra kicked off from seven prominent temples, including Sikharchandi Temple in Bhubaneswar, Chandi Temple in Cuttack, Bhadrakali Temple in Bhadrak, Samleswari Temple in Sambalpur, Maa Mangala Temple in Puri’s Kakatpur, Kandhuni Temple in Ganjam’s Sorada and Patneswari Temple in Patnagarh and was led by the Mahila Morcha leaders like Pravati Parida, Sangita Singh Deo, Radharani Panda, Kumidini Patnaik and others.
During the 11-day Yatra, the activists will cover seven routes while holding 450 public meetings and have plans to sensitise the women their rights, safety and security.
Lekhashree Samantsinghar, who led the Yatra in Bhadrak said, “We have launched the Mahila Suraksha Yatra for the security, security and dignity of women after seeking the blessing of Maa Bhadrakali here. I would be accompanied by our leaders from Bhadrak, Baleswar and Mayurbhanj and try to reach every household in the State and create awareness. The Yatra will conclude on May 29.”
