Bags Best Exhibit Award in the Science Category at a National Exhibition
Report by Badal Tah; Rayagada: The Aditya Birla Public School promoted by Utkal Alumina is situated in the lush green, salubrious and pristine picturesque valley of Southern Odisha. It is precisely located in Doraguda which is about 60 Kilometres away from Rayagada – the Administrative Head Quarters of Rayagada District. Augmented with 32 dedicated and experienced staff members, the school has been able to cater to the students of the peripheral 25 villages.
The School has got affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi. It has got all the necessary infrastructures including well-furnished Computer Lab, Music Room with various musical instruments, well-staked library with text books, magazines and periodicals, Science Lab, Smart Boards, School Automation System, CCTV Surveillance and Playground. With 100% result, the students of last four batches brought laurels to school in the CBSE Class X Examination. Needless to say, this is a humble beginning of Utkal Alumina in building the society around and the journey continues.
By adding another feather to its cap, the Aditya Birla Public School of UAIL (Utkal Alumina International Ltd) campus has bagged the most coveted Best Exhibit Award in the CBSE National Science Exhibition held at Suncity School, Gurugram recently. The project ” River and Sea Surface Water Cleaner” prepared by Master Adarsh Pandey of Class-IX & Master Ritayan Misra of Class VIII under the guidance of Mr. Sarbeswar Pradhan, PGT-Physics has been selected and received this most prestigious award with a cash prize worth Rs.5,000/- . The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Anita Karwal, Chairperson, CBSE on 16th January 2020 in which nearly 600 schools across the nation participated. Out of these, twenty-seven schools along with ABPS Doraguda received awards in different categories. This year theme was “Science & Technology for sustainable development with a thrust on water conservation”.
While congratulating on this spectacular achievement of the students, the Unit Head of UAIL, Mr N. Nagesh said “We are really overwhelmed with solace to know about this news. We at ABPS, are devoted towards the students for their all-round developments. Certainly this recognition will encourage the students to excel in their respective domains.”
The Principal of ABPS, UAIL Campus has congratulated the students and thanked Mr Nagesh, the Unit Head of UAIL, Dr.SGanguli, Director, GHR-Education and the HR Head of UAIL, Mr T. Meenaprakash for their support and encouragement. It is worthwhile to mention here that ABPS UAIL Campus organises similar types of exhibitions in its campus regularly to embed a scientific, creative and innovative temper in the young minds amongst the students of the region.
