6,498 schools  damaged due to Cyclone Fani in 14 districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As many as 6,498 schools in 14 districts of Odisha damaged, with most 2,134 in Puri district followed by Cuttack 1,002; total damages estimated to be around Rs 427 crore, informs #Odisha Information & Public Relations secretary

According to preliminary estimate around 6498 school building have been damaged in 14 Cyclone affected districts. Puri records highest number of damaged
school buildings that comes to 2134. The number of damaged school buildings district wise is 432, 1002, 392, 332, 165, 2134, 150, 121, 386, 577, 28, 59 and 720
in Balasore, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jagatsinghpur respectively. The
estimated quantum of the damage is said to be 417.83 Crore. There is no report of damage to school building in affected Angul district.
