Former Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the United States. A 1988 batch IFS officer, Kwatra is expected to assume his new role soon. The position became vacant following the retirement of Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
