Jharsuguda: Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with great fervor. The Vedanta employees, families, and business partners came together to observe the spirit of freedom and independence. Led by the company’s Security Team, a ceremonial marchpast was conducted by the jawans and ex-military personnel working with the company. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Mr. CN Singh, CEO – Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, followed by his address to the august gathering and an award ceremony for the best performers of the Team Security in the past year.
On this day, addressing the audience, Mr. CN Singh, CEO – Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, said, “Nation building is everyone’s sacred duty. We are also doing our bit for the nation in every possible manner and we are extremely proud of it. In line with our Chairman’s vision, we are committed to the greater good of all, and we will emerge a shining example of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make in Odisha’ movements that can set the benchmark for industrial prowess.”
The Independence Day marked the great culmination of a series of activities organized by Team Security in the past week, such as Career Orientation program for the high school students of peripheral villages, clean & green security barrack competition, safety & security awareness session for business partners, and road safety session for truckers in association with the RTO. The CSR team of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda also celebrated the day with students of peripheral schools, reaching out to more than 3000 students, teaching staff and community members.
