Distributes 1 lac masks in the community
Bhubaneswar: Going a step ahead in its continued endeavor of working relentlessly towards taking adequate measures for combating the pandemic Covid 19, Utkal Alumina International Ltd (UAIL), Doraguda, a unit of Aditya Birla Group in Kashipur Block of Rayagada district in Odisha has so far distributed more than 1lac Masks to its stakeholders in both districts of its operation.
Amidst this crisis situation masks have become an integral part of respiratory hygiene for all to protect us from possible infection of COVID 19.The women engaged in “Saksham” (A Garment Stitching unit supported by UAIL) have geared up the mask production. In this effort of manufacturing the masks also the local SHG’s and individuals have come forward. This gave them an opportunity to serve the community as well as an alternate income source.
Beating all odds at this lock down, the women from nearby villages have proved themselves as a crusader of change and produced almost 40000 Masks through their consistent effort. In addition to this, UAIL has procured 60000 additional masks to distribute in both the districts of Rayagada & Kalahandi.
With the earnest effort of all those dedicated women and the entire team of UAIL, an overwhelming milestone could be achieved as Utkal Alumina accomplished distribution of 1,00,000 ( One Lakh) masks to all their stakeholders and in almost all peripheral villages of UAIL in both the districts.
“It’s a fulfilling experience for us to serve our stakeholders especially our community, district administration etc at this time of crisis by distributing masks which is one of the many other initiatives we are taking” stated Mr. N Nagesh, Unit Head & President Utkal Alumina International Limited.
As a responsible corporate UAIL is always committed towards the safety and good health of its community and will continue its efforts to combat this pandemic, adds Mr Nagesh.
