Bhubaneswar: Union Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy has lauded the BJP’s impressive victory in the panchayat elections in Odisha and said that this hints about a change desired by the people of the State.
Rudy, who was on a visit to the State on Saturday, told the media, “Wherever the BJP candidates did not succeed, they came very close to the candidates of the ruling party and this is a good sign.”
He said all the recent elections have proved the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Referring to the BJP’s decision to hold its national executive meeting in Bhubaneswar, Rudy said this is also a matter of pride for the Odisha party workers.
The people of the State appear set to make the saffron party victorious in the next general elections in 2019, he claimed.
He met the JP State president Basanta Panda and several other leaders and discussed organisational issues with them, said sources.
