Jamshedpur: Sunil Bhaskaran, VP (corporate services), Tata Steel, today launched the logo of the Jamshedpur FC in presence of Steve Coppell, head coach, Jamshedpur FC; Ishfaq Ahmed, assistant coach of the franchise; Subrata Pal, player Jamshedpur FC and erstwhile TFA cadet; and Ravi Radhakrishnan, chief aviation services and sports, Tata Steel, at a press conference held today at the Centre for Excellence.
Welcoming the audience, Mukul Choudhary, chief Sports Excellence Centres, Tata Steel, said that the company has had a long association with sports, starting with Tata Football Academy (TFA) and the Super Soccer series. Many cadets from TFA have made it to the National level and several are currently playing in the Indian Super League (ISL).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhaskaran explained the proceedings that took place in Mumbai on July 23 during the ISL Player Draft 2017. This was followed by questions from the media on team composition, logistics arrangements, pre-season training of players, which Mr Bhaskaran and Mr Coppell answered.
On being asked how he felt on being part of Jamshedpur FC, Subrata Pal said that he was happy and it felt like being back home again.
