Joda: Tata Steel inaugurated a state-of-art 270 KLD Sewage Water Treatment Plant (STP) at Joda on November 20, 2018. Mr Arun Misra, Vice President (Raw Materials), Tata Steel inaugurated the STP in the presence of Mr Manish Mishra, General Manager (Ore Mines & Quarries), Tata Steel and other senior officials of Tata Steel.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Arun Misra said, “It is yet another successful endeavour towards environmental sustainability, which is a part of the reduce, recycle and reuse drive. We are giving special emphasis to ensure pollution free Suna river by setting up several other projects like Effluent Treatment Plants, Incinerator, Water Harvesting Projects etc. in and around its township area and mining operations”.
The STP can treat 270KLD (Kilo Litres per day) of sewage water, discharged from the lower camp and other areas of Joda West. Except this STP, there are another five STPs which are operating at its full capacity to treat sewage water generated from its township premises at Joda West and Joda East. The treated water will be reused for horticulture purposes in its township premises.
