Cuttack: The ‘Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital, Sri Sri University’ (SSCASRH-SSU) was inaugurated on 26 April 2019 at the Sri Sri University campus, Arilo, Bidyadharpur, Cuttack. The Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony was Dr. Prafulla Kumar Mishra, Chancellor of Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Samastipur, Bihar. Dr. Jayram Hazra, Director CARIHD– CCRAS, Dr. Dinabandhu Maharana- President, Odisha Ayurveda Seva Sadan were the Guest of Honours. The other dignitaries who were present for the inaugural ceremony included Vice Chancellor, Sri Sri University Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Executive Registrar Ghanshyam Ojha, Director Operations Shri Narendra Lamba, Medical Superintendent, Dr.Madan Mohan Padhi SSCASRH-SSU, Medical Director of SSCASRH, Bangalore, Dr. Sarveswar Kar were also present for the inaugural ceremony. Mrs Rajita Kulkarni, President, Sri Sri University joined the inauguration electronically.
The University aims to develop a Ayurveda teaching hospital with a capacity of 300 IPD beds with a 100 seater Ayurveda College gradually. The Medical College aims to provide not only course knowledge and its clinical application but also become a center of excellence for the erudition of Ayurveda. The aim is to impart quality education and meet the country’s need for highly qualified teacher clinician and researcher in all disciplines of Ayurveda. The focus is to create a unique academic and clinical environment where concepts in Ayurveda and the latest findings in science are used for education and research.
The University proposes to introduce integrated-medical facilities and complementary medicine. Research will also be included.
The services include, Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), Panchakarma (Five types of Purificatory therapies, unique to Ayurveda), Shalyatantra (Surgery), Swasthavritta (Preventive Medicine), Shalakyatantra (Eye, ENT and Dentistry), Prasutitantra (Obstetrics); Streeroga (Gynecology), Kumarabhritya (Pediatrics), etc. Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and Yoga therapy are already available in the varsity.
