Mumbai : Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films screened 10 perfect short films by 10 aspiring directors at the 19th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2017 today. As a part of their association with the festival for a second time in a row and showcasing their commitment to the short film genre, Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short films organized a contest for short filmmakers across the country.
The platform gave an opportunity of a lifetime to 10 driven cinephiles, inspiring them to create an original short filmin order to enter the contest. Director GautamVaze’s ‘AaiShapat’ was declared as jury’s favorite short film and isawarding him an opportunity to intern with VS Films.
The contest was judged by an eminent jury comprising the legendary actor,Rajkummar Rao, the successful producer and actress, Srishti Arya along with the phenomenal director and screenwriter,NityaMehra.
The Perfect 10 short films that were screened at the festival include ‘Keeda’ by SnehNihalani, ‘The Manliest Man’ by Anuj Gulati, ‘The thought of you’ by Ahmed Roy, ‘AaiShapat’ by GautamVaze, ‘Faarcha’ by Sisir Kumar Sau, ‘Alaksha’ by Pushpak Anil Jain, ‘Mad’ by Vinod Rawat, ‘Meera’ by Sumit Kumar and ‘Counting Stars’ by MaanaviBedi.

Prior to this, Royal Stag Barrel Select also screened 4 powerful short films by acclaimed Bollywood directors at the festival. As a part of their association with the festival for the second time in a row, the platform screened ‘Anukul’ by Sujoy Ghosh, ‘Death of a Father’ by ChaitanyaTamhane, ‘Churri’ by MansiNirmal Jain and ‘Juice’ by NeerajGhaywan. Strengthening this partnership and taking this alliance with MAMI a notch higher, Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films also created a stage to these master storytellers to share their ‘pursuit to perfection’ stories over a unique panel discussion.
