Chandigarh: Election Commission of India (ECI) today held a review meeting of Electoral Roll with the nodal officers of the state and UTs. Chaired by Sh. Umesh Sinha, Secretary General, ECI, it was aimed at enhancing the overall health of the Electoral Roll and familiarisation with new additions in the electoral process, particularly focusing on ensuing state elections including Punjab.
In the meeting commonly faced issues like Demographic Similar Entries (DSEs), repeat EPICs and logical errors were discussed and Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of the states were instructed to take appropriate steps at their level for the removal of these errors to ensure error-free electoral rolls.
