Productivity Week launched at Tata Steel

Joda: Productivity Week was launched at Joda East Iron Mine and Khondbond Iron Mine of Tata Steel’s OMQ Division on February 12, 2020.
At Joda East Iron Mine, the week-long celebrations was launched at Administrative Building, Joda East Iron Mine with flag hoisting by Mr Rajesh Kumar, Chief (Joda), Tata Steel in the presence of Mr D. Vijayendra, Head, Joda East Iron Mine and Mr Himansu Sarangi, Head (Equipment Maintenance), Joda East Iron Mine and Mr Ranjeet Kumar Das, General Secretary, Joda East Mazdoor Union.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajesh Kumar stressed on the need for improving productivity while focusing on safety and quality. He spoke on how one can leverage technology, innovation, training and simplify systems thereby improving overall productivity.
At Khondbond Iron Mine, Productivity Week was launched with flag hoisting jointly by Mr Manish Kumar, Head (Mining Operations), Khondbond, Mr K Ramakrishna, Head (Wet Processing- O & M), Khondbond, Mr Chittaranjan Sahoo, Head (Logistics), Khondbond, Mr Anjan Patra, General Secretary, Khondbond Mazdoor Union and Mr S P Swain, President, Khondbond Mazdoor Union.
The event was coordinated by Human Resource Department officials at both the locations.
During the week-long celebrations, various events like productivity awareness sessions along with competitions including essay writing, slogan writing, poem writing and poster making have been scheduled.
It may be noted here that Productivity Week owes its origin to the National Productivity Council established in 1985 by the Ministry of Industry, Govt. of India that has been working towards promotion of productivity culture in India.
