Report by Akshya Rout, Jajpur: Former Odisha finance minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai has thanked the state government for addressing the basic necessities of Nagada village under Sukinda assembly constituency in Jajpur district.
In a press release Mr Ghadai has said, – soon after the Nagada children death cases came to light, the state government, immediately swung into action and formed a task force. Basing on the recommendation of the task force, the state government has started building a 12-km road to connect Nagada with the outer world. Besides, the government has formed women self-help groups sand provided pattas to the local people under Forest Rights Act, he said.
Mr Ghadai attributed the death of children to the lack of medical within a distance of 20 km. “Recently, Sukinda MLA Priti Ranjan Ghadai had written a letter to the state government to set up a hospital. Besides, the people of Sukindahave recently submitted a memorandum to chief minister Naveen Patnaik for setting up a hospital. I hope, the CM would soon take steps to establish the hospital for the Nagada people,” said Mr Ghadai.
