New Delhi: A large number of Non-Resident Odia organisations from across India including the National Capital Region, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore felicitated the Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik for being awarded as the Best Administrator in the country in New Delhi today.
Odia organisations which are felicitated are Odisha Forum, Odia Mahamanch, Utkalini, Odisha Diary Foundation and over 50 other orgnaisations. Chief Minister received the prestigious Outlook Speakout Award-2017 as the Best Administrator in the country from the former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at a glittering function held on 18th August, 2017. A large number of Prabasi Odia organisations from across India felicitated the Chief Minister and recalled his signal contribution over last 17 years in transforming Odisha as the paradigm of development and growth.
They thanked the Chief Minister for his untiring efforts for social and economic development of the State, his firm resolve to make Odisha the Number One State in the country, and deeply appreciated his gesture of dedicating the Best Administrator Award to the four and a half crore strong people of Odisha.
Prabasi Odia community hailed the leadership of Chief Minister, his administrative acumen, unquestionable integrity and his total dedication to people. They highlighted on how his leadership has enabled Odisha to gain recognition from the World Bank as a leader in the implementation of business reforms and in making Odisha as the most favoured investment destination in the country. The strong Prabasi Odia community expressed their gratitude to him for bringing about the highest poverty reduction in thecountry, raising over 80 lakh persons above the poverty line and for sharpest decline in the infant mortality rate, saving lives of over 50,000 newborn babies every year.
Prabasi Odia community spoke at length on how his initiatives have led to empowerment of vulnerable sections including women, children, scheduled castes & scheduled tribes and transformed Odisha’s agriculture. They underlined the achievements ofthe State in bringing about self-sufficiency in food grain production, for contributing to the national food security and for enabling the State to become the 3rd largest contributor to the Public Distribution System.
The Prabasi Odia community made a special mention on the leadership displayed by him in Super Cyclone Phailin-2013 in achieving gold standard of zero casualty winning global acclaim including from the United Nations and for providing Copy Book Lesson inDisaster Management. The community also noted the special initiative taken by the Chief Minister in making Odisha as the International Sports Hub and recognised the world class arrangements made by Odisha at the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar which brought the State international acclaim and proved the State’s capacity and skills to organise a major international event within a short span of 90 days. The strong Prabasi Odia community thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister for making them proud of the State’s achievements and wished him greater heights in future endeavours.
Chief Minister thanked the Prabasi Odia community for their support and apprised them of his firm resolve to take the State to commanding heights. He informed the Prabasi Odia community that Government has decided to allot suitable land in Bhubaneswar for construction of a Cultural Centre for the Prabasi Odia Community amidst cheers from Prabasi Odias
