Cannes: Internationally acclaimed film producer and promoter Jitendra Mishra from Odisha has made us proud once again at the ongoing 72nd Cannes film festival, France. Jitendra, who is representing the Smile International film festival for children & youth, Smile Foundation, at Cannes, walked the prestigious red carpet wearing the traditional hand-woven Sambalpuri design from Odisha. While others were wearing specially designed western outfits & tuxedoes, Jitendra decided to wear a simple traditional Sambalpuri green Jacket in his second round of red carpet and appreciated by many international celebrities & leaders from the industry.
He has been a part of many important panel & forums at Cannes during last seven days and spotted promoting Sambalpuri handloom everywhere. His latest production ‘The Last color’ by celebrity chef Vikas Khanna had a special screening at the festival in it’s the Marche du Films section on 15th May, 4pm at Gray 5 cinema. Member of the Cannes producers network, Mr Mishra was also a part of the special panel “In conversation with Vikas Khanna & Jitendra Mishra” on 16th May, 4.30pm hosted by FICCi-FRAMES & Ministry of I&B, Govt. of India at the India Pavilion of Festival de Cannes. He was also a part of the Master-class “See life through different lens” at the Hotel Majestic Barrier, Cannes.
Jitendra has posted on his social network profile and said, “I always try to wear my traditional #Sambalpuri designs during all my momemtous events. These handwoven clothes have some devine power which always keep me charged-up, confident & positive from inside, when I wear them…… “
Born in Titlagarh, Odisha, Jitendra Mishra is a multiple award winning film producer and promoter. He has already been associated with more than 110 films in all categories and in various capacities. He has been invited to many credible international film festival as eminent jury and currently on the board of directors for world’s biggest and oldest children media network CIFEJ and member of the Cannes Producers network since last many years. He is also the festival director of the unique film festival SIFFCY which he has conceived & designed for Smile Foundation. His current feature film production ‘The Last Color’ by Vikas Khanna is travelling across the globe in credible film festivals and set to release in India soon. The film was premiered in the 30th Palm Springs film festival, US in January this year.
