Bhubaneswar: Odisha Sikhya Sahayak Association & Primary Teachers’ Association to stage dharna at PMG square Bhubaneswar on March 9 over 3-point charter of demands including salary hike.
This was informed by association president Brahamananda Moharana at a Press meet held here on Sunday.
Moharana said earlier the State Government had formed a high power committee in November and assured to fulfil their demands by February 1. He alleged that the Government is not responding to their demands and showing a dilly-dallying attitude. The demands included declaring the minimum eligibility of the primary teachers from matriculation and CT to plus two and CT, considering Sikshya Sahayaks as Government employees who have completed six years of service and hiking the salary by 25 per cent of Shiksha Sahayaks as per other contractual employees.
Among others, Odisha Sikshya Sahayak Association president Malay Kumar Jena, OPTA general secretary Bankim Chandra Sagar, Sushant Behera, Uttam Kumar Das and Krushna Chandra Behera were present.
