Bhubaneswar: Odisha sprinters once again proved to be the best in the national track by winning two gold and a silver medal in the day two of the four day 21st Federation Cup Senior National Athletic Championship at Patiala on Friday. Srabani Nanda and Dutee Chand bagged gold and silver medal in the women 200 metre event by clocking 23.57 and 23.60 seconds respectively, while Jyothi HM of Karnataka claimed the bronze medal with a timing of 24.37 seconds. Fastest runner of the nation Amiya Kumar Mallick added another feather to his cap by winning gold medal in the men 200 metre event by clocking 21.22 seconds. WhileSanjeet of Haryana and Vamsi Praveen received the silver and bronze medal with 21.43 and 21.78 seconds respectively. Odisha’s three sprinters Amiya Kumar Mallick, Srabani Nanda and Dutee Chand have been qualified in their respective 200 metre race for the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships schedule to be held at Kalinga Stadium from July 6 to 9.
