Bhubaneswar: Minister, Science & Technology, Public Enterprises, Social Security & Empowerment PwDs Shri Ashok Chandra Panda has urged Centre to take more steps for training of Science Teachers and popularisation of science in the state. Sri Panda, while participating in the 18th Annual General Body Meeting of Institute of Life Science, Bhubaneswar, held in the CSIR Science Centre at Lodi Estate, New Delhi today said that Ministry of Science and Technology, GoI should take more measures in this regard and extend substantial patronage to undertake more
activities in this state.
The meeting was chaired over by Dr. Harsha Vardhan, Union Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Science in which Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology and the President of Governing Body of Institute of Life Science, Bhubaneswar gave an elaborate report on Department’s Activities.
Minister Sri Panda informed that Government of Odisha has approved financial grant to the tune of 2 Crore for construction of Incubation Centre in the Institute of Life Service, Bhubaneswar while the construction of Training Centre for the Scientists & Technologists of North-East has already been completed.
Dr. Ajay Parida, Director, Institute of Life Science, Bhubaneswar proposed vote of thanks in the meeting along with a Power-Point presentation on the important activities and events undertaken by the Institute of Life Science, Bhubaneswar. The minutes of previous Governing Body Meetings were also approved.
