Odisha ruling BJD lashed out at BJP for taking credit for implementation of Central Govt projects

Bhubaneswar: The BJD on Friday while welcoming the piped gas project in the city, lashed out at the BJP for patting its own back for the implementation of the Central Government projects.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Ashok Panda and BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb criticised BJP over the issue. BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said the State Government had asked the Central Government for gas supply through pipelines for industrial use after gas was discovered in the Godavari basin in 2009. Though the State Government had sent repeated reminders, it was not implemented.

Deb also criticised Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan for claiming credit for implementation of all Central schemes and also terming the State Government as a habitual liar.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Ashok Panda said it is doubtful that the piped gas supply project would be completed before 2020 as being claimed. He said the project could have been implemented in any common man’s nieghbourhood or in any slum area. But it seems it has been done in an urban area with some ulterior motive. Among others, Bhubaneswar Central MLA Bijay Mohanty and Bhubaneswar North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra were present.
